The challenge

Where the operator started and what actually made it hard.

When paid social disappears overnight, organic has to carry the store. The site had decent product content but almost no authority: sixty-one referring domains, most of them directories and coupon sites. Mainstream PR agencies would not pitch adult products.

The constraint was speed with safety. Buying links would have been fast and would have put the whole domain at risk. Every placement had to be earned and adult-tolerant.

How it went

Baseline recorded first, a written report every month, no surprises at the end.

  1. 1

    Month 1

    Audit and angles

Backlink audit, disavow, three PR angles agreed with the operator’s data.

  2. 2

    Months 2–4

    Placements

First PR story landed in month two. Guest editorial and broken-link wins every week from month three.

  3. 3

    Months 5–6

    Authority compounds

Category pages move into the top five for head terms. Organic becomes the largest revenue channel.

Compliance handled

Built in from the start, not retrofitted.

  • No paid links, no private networks, every placement disclosed to the operator
  • Toxic legacy links disavowed before new authority was built
  • Explicit product pages age-gated; category pages left crawlable
